SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. — Wade Christopher Kastner Jr. has been charged with murder, domestic violence, and weapons offenses following the fatal shooting of 44-year-old Troy Allen Conner on Thursday night, September 10, in Spartanburg County. According to the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office, Conner was found suffering from a gunshot wound at Ill Ink Tattoos on Boiling Springs Road and later died at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Deputies were called to Ill Ink Tattoos, located at 1211 Boiling Springs Road, shortly before 11 p.m. after authorities received reports of a disturbance involving weapons. While deputies were responding to the scene, dispatchers received additional information that a shooting had occurred.

When deputies arrived, they found Troy Allen Conner suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency assistance was provided, and Conner was transported to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center for treatment. Despite efforts to save his life, he later died from the injuries he sustained.

Investigators immediately began speaking with witnesses and others who were present at the business. Through their investigation, authorities identified Wade Christopher Kastner Jr. as the person suspected in connection with the shooting.

The Sheriff’s Office also reported that investigators determined Kastner had allegedly committed domestic violence against his wife, who was at the business before he arrived. The domestic violence allegation has added another serious dimension to an already tragic incident.

Deputies later located Kastner away from the scene and took him into custody without incident. According to authorities, Kastner allegedly admitted during an interview to committing domestic violence against his wife and shooting Conner. The allegations remain part of the criminal case, and Kastner is entitled to due process as the legal proceedings move forward.

Kastner is facing several serious charges, including murder, domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature, and two counts of possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

He was booked into the Spartanburg County Detention Facility early Friday morning and remained in custody awaiting a bond hearing. A formal bond hearing was scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at the detention facility.
