With profound sadness, we remember Yolanda Walley, 50, of Laurel, Mississippi, and Jacob Height, 25, of Laurel, Mississippi, whose lives were tragically taken following a devastating two-vehicle crash on Mississippi Highway 512 in Clarke County on Thursday, September 10, 2026.

The collision occurred at approximately 2:50 p.m. near the Souinlovie Creek Bridge, just west of the Elwood Community. According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, Yolanda was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Aveo westbound when the vehicle encountered a curve on the wet roadway. The Chevrolet crossed the center line and collided head-on with a 1989 Ford FT900 pulpwood truck traveling eastbound.

The truck was driven by James Mosley, 55, of Rose Hill, Mississippi. Authorities said Mosley made a last-minute attempt to avoid the Chevrolet, but the vehicles nevertheless collided with devastating force. Both vehicles came to rest along the westbound shoulder, with the Chevrolet becoming lodged underneath the pulpwood truck.

Yolanda and Jacob sadly succumbed to the injuries they sustained. Their unexpected deaths have left their families, friends, and loved ones facing a tremendous loss.

At 50 and 25 years old, Yolanda and Jacob had so much life ahead of them. Their lives were more than the circumstances surrounding this tragedy. They were people who mattered, people who were loved, and people whose presence brought meaning to the lives of others.

During this painful time, may their families find strength in the memories they shared and comfort in the love and support surrounding them. May the memories of Yolanda and Jacob continue to live on through everyone fortunate enough to have known them.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol has notified the next of kin, and the crash remains under investigation.

May Yolanda Walley and Jacob Height rest peacefully. Their lives may have ended far too soon, but their memories will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved them.

Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
