COLUMBUS, Ohio — A heartbreaking crash in west Franklin County has claimed the life of 37-year-old Robert Booker, leaving his loved ones to mourn a life that ended far too soon.

The fatal collision happened Wednesday afternoon in the 1000 block of Alton Darby Creek Road in Prairie Township, where emergency crews were called following reports of a serious crash. According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to the area just before 4:30 p.m.

Investigators said a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling northbound on Alton Darby Creek Road while a 2005 Ford Escape was traveling southbound. For reasons that remain under investigation, the Ford reportedly crossed into the northbound lane and collided head-on with the Chevrolet.

The impact was severe, leaving both drivers with injuries serious enough to require transportation to OhioHealth Doctors Hospital.

For Robert Booker, the injuries proved fatal.

The driver of the Ford Escape was pronounced dead at approximately 5:37 p.m., according to authorities. The following day, the Franklin County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased driver as 37-year-old Robert Booker.

At only 37 years old, Robert’s life was tragically cut short in a moment that no family ever expects to face. What began as an ordinary Wednesday afternoon ended with devastating news and a family forced to say goodbye far sooner than they should have.

The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado was also transported to the hospital but was reported to be in stable condition. Authorities said there were no other occupants inside either vehicle.
