Our hearts are heavy as we remember Richard Jobes, 62, of Harrington, and Richard Jobes II, 36, whose lives came to a tragic end Wednesday morning along Whiteleysburg Road in Harrington, Delaware. Their deaths have left family, friends and loved ones facing an unimaginable loss.

Delaware State Police were called to Whiteleysburg Road around 3 a.m. on August 26 after receiving a report of two unresponsive people in a ditch. When troopers arrived, they discovered Richard Jobes with a gunshot wound and Richard Jobes II, who police said appeared to have suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities identified the 62-year-old victim as Richard Jobes on Thursday, while the second man was identified as Richard Jobes II.

The investigation remains active and ongoing as detectives work to understand the circumstances surrounding the deaths. While authorities continue searching for answers, the families affected by this tragedy are left to cope with the pain of losing their loved ones.
