There are moments in life when words simply aren’t enough. Losing someone so young, so suddenly, leaves behind a kind of pain that is difficult to explain. Today, we remember Quadarius Holloman, a 19-year-old from Edenton whose life was tragically cut short.
At just 19, Quadarius had so much life ahead of him. There should have been countless more birthdays, more laughter, more family gatherings, more friendships, more dreams, and more beautiful memories waiting to be made. His story should have continued for many more years.
Instead, the people who loved him are now left with memories and an emptiness that words cannot fill.
Quadarius was more than the tragedy that took his life. He was a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend. He was someone who meant something to people. He had a place in the hearts of those who knew him, and that place will never be erased.
Grief is the price we pay for having loved someone deeply. In the days ahead, his family may find themselves remembering the smallest things—the sound of his voice, his smile, the conversations they shared, the jokes, the good times, and even the ordinary moments that never seemed important until they became memories.
Those memories are now priceless.
No family should ever have to bury a 19-year-old. No parent or loved one should have to face the pain of saying goodbye when there was supposed to be so much more time.
As Quadarius’s loved ones navigate this heartbreaking loss, may they find strength in one another and comfort in knowing that his life mattered and that he will continue to live on through the memories of everyone who loved him.
May his name be spoken with love. May his memory be treated with dignity. And may he never be forgotten.
Rest peacefully, Quadarius.
Your time here was far too short, but the love you left behind will last forever.
Forever 19. Forever loved. Forever in our hearts.
