With heavy hearts, we share the passing of a Greensburg man who tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident in Unity Township on Friday afternoon.

According to the Westmoreland County Coroner’s Office, the crash occurred shortly before 3:45 p.m. Friday near the intersection of Route 981 and Indian Street.

The coroner has identified the deceased as Patrick McKleveen of Greensburg. He was driving a Kawasaki motorcycle northbound on Route 981 when it came into contact with a pickup truck.

Emergency crews responded quickly to the scene, but despite their efforts, Patrick’s injuries were fatal.

The cause and manner of death are pending autopsy and toxicology results. Pennsylvania State Police are continuing to investigate the crash. No further information was immediately available.

Patrick’s sudden passing has left his family, friends, and the entire Greensburg community in shock and mourning. A motorcycle ride on a Friday afternoon — something that should have been routine — ended in an unimaginable tragedy.

He was more than just a motorcyclist. He was a son, a friend, a neighbor, and a loved one. He was part of our community, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

The loss of a life on our roadways is a painful reminder of how fragile life is and how quickly everything can change. Our thoughts are with everyone who knew and loved Patrick during this difficult time.
