It is with deep sorrow that we remember Nicholas Christopher Grove, 52, of Taylors, who tragically lost his life Monday morning following a shooting at a home under construction in Anderson County, South Carolina.

According to Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore, Anderson County 911 received a call at approximately 10:15 a.m. Monday, August 31, reporting that a person had been shot on Tilman Court in Anderson.

First responders arrived at the location and found Grove deceased inside a newly constructed home.

The Anderson County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Nicholas Christopher Grove, 52.

According to the preliminary investigation, Grove was working as a contractor at the home when he became involved in a verbal altercation with a coworker. Investigators said the dispute escalated, and shots were fired.

Grove suffered a fatal gunshot wound. His cause of death was determined to be a gunshot wound, while his manner of death was ruled a homicide.

An autopsy is scheduled as investigators continue working to determine the full circumstances surrounding the shooting.

The Anderson County Coroner’s Office and Anderson County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the incident. Detectives are expected to examine evidence from the scene and speak with witnesses as they work to establish a complete account of what happened.

Grove’s death has left his family, friends, coworkers and loved ones facing an unimaginable loss. His life was suddenly cut short while he was working at a construction site, turning what began as a workplace dispute into a deadly tragedy.

For those who knew Nicholas, the circumstances surrounding his death cannot erase the memories of the person he was or the moments shared with him.
