TIFTON, Ga. — In loving memory of Michael Benefield, 23, of Tifton, whose life was tragically cut short following a shooting near the Wildwood Apartments on Saturday, August 29.
Michael was only 23 years old, with so much life still ahead of him. A young life filled with possibilities, dreams and moments that should have continued for many more years was suddenly taken away, leaving behind heartbreak and unanswered questions for those who knew and loved him.
According to the Tifton Police Department, three people were shot during the incident near the Wildwood Apartments. Two victims were transported to Tift Regional Medical Center, where they were treated and later released. Michael, however, was found deceased inside a vehicle at the apartment complex at approximately 10 p.m.
For Michael’s family and friends, the news is undoubtedly difficult to comprehend. Losing someone so young and unexpectedly can leave a lasting emptiness that words cannot easily describe. The memories shared with Michael will now become precious reminders of a life that mattered and a person who will never be forgotten.
