It is with profound sadness that we remember Melissa Marie Miley, 55, of Bullhead City, whose life came to a tragic end on Friday, September 11, 2026, following a drowning in the Colorado River.

Melissa’s passing is a heartbreaking reminder of how suddenly life can change. On that morning, Bullhead City Police responded at approximately 8:20 a.m. to the Colorado River near the 600 block of Highway 95 after receiving a report that a person had entered the water and did not resurface.

Surveillance footage from the area showed a woman parking her vehicle, leaving the engine running, and entering the river fully clothed. A search operation was quickly launched as police and rescue personnel worked to locate her. Bullhead City officers responded with a patrol boat and dive team, while Water Safety Rescue personnel searched the river using personal watercraft. A local media drone also assisted authorities from above as the search continued.

After approximately three hours of searching, a witness reported seeing a body floating near the 1200 block of Riverfront Drive. Responding dive team members recovered the woman from the river, and she was identified as Melissa Marie Miley. Despite the efforts made, Melissa was pronounced deceased.

The circumstances surrounding why Melissa entered the river remain unknown, and authorities have stated that no foul play is suspected at this time. As the investigation continues, those who knew and loved Melissa are left to grieve a devastating and unexpected loss.
