Max Longwell, 22, of Lexington, Ohio, is being remembered following a tragic single-vehicle crash in a Walmart parking lot in Ontario, Ohio, that claimed his life on August 23, 2026.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Mansfield Post, the fatal crash occurred at approximately 8:55 a.m. in the parking lot of Walmart in Ontario. The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation as authorities continue working to determine exactly what led to the tragic incident.

Investigators said Longwell was driving a black 2023 Chevrolet Malibu through the parking lot when the vehicle struck a block retaining wall. The impact left Longwell seriously injured.

Emergency responders were called to the scene, and Longwell was transported to OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital for medical treatment. Despite efforts to save his life, he later succumbed to the injuries he sustained in the crash.
