In Loving Memory of Grant Hale

In Loving Memory of Grant Hale

Thursday afternoon, September 10, 2026, brought unimaginable heartbreak to the family, friends, and community of 17-year-old Grant Hale of Minerva, Ohio, who tragically lost his life in a two-vehicle crash involving a commercial truck on U.S. Route 30 in Stark County.

The crash occurred at approximately 12:19 p.m. on westbound U.S. Route 30 near milepost 11 in Perry Township. According to the preliminary investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Grant was driving a 2013 Ford Fusion eastbound in the left lane when his vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway, crossed the grassy median, and entered the westbound lanes.

His Ford Fusion then collided with a 2018 Mack commercial truck traveling westbound in the right lane. The impact forced both vehicles off the north side of the highway and into a wooded area.

Tragically, Grant suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. At just 17 years old, he had a lifetime of possibilities ahead of himโ€”dreams to pursue, places to see, people to meet, and countless memories still waiting to be made.

The driver of the Mack truck, a 75-year-old Canton man, sustained minor injuries and was transported to Aultman Hospital for treatment.

As the investigation continues, authorities have not yet determined what caused Grant to leave the roadway and cross the median. Emergency crews responded to the scene, and portions of the highway were closed as they worked to manage the aftermath.

Today, the focus is on remembering a young life that ended far too soon. Grantโ€™s family and loved ones are left with memories that will forever be precious.

May those who knew Grant find comfort in the moments they shared with him and strength in one another during this difficult time.

Rest peacefully, Grant Hale. Your life was precious, your memory will endure, and you will never be forgotten.
