According to the Shawnee Police Department, officers were called to a residence on Stevens Road at approximately 5:00 p.m. after receiving a report of a shooting. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Deborah Sanders inside the residence. Despite the circumstances surrounding the incident, Deborah was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Her death has left a community mourning and a family facing the unimaginable pain of losing a loved one.
