With heavy hearts, we remember Deanndra Elaine Hamlett, 25, of Roseburg, Oregon, whose life was tragically cut short Wednesday night following a devastating rollover crash on Interstate 5 in Douglas County.

Deanndra’s passing has brought profound sadness to those who knew and loved her, leaving behind memories that will forever be cherished. At just 25 years old, she had so much life ahead of her, making the sudden loss all the more heartbreaking for her family, friends and everyone touched by her life.

The fatal crash was reported at approximately 8:18 p.m. on August 26, 2026, along southbound Interstate 5 near milepost 127.

According to Oregon State Police, a preliminary investigation determined that Hamlett was driving a black 2009 Toyota Scion tC southbound on the interstate when, for reasons that remain unknown, the vehicle left the roadway and rolled over.

During the violent crash, Hamlett was ejected from the vehicle. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but tragically, she could not be saved. Deanndra was pronounced dead at the scene.

The circumstances surrounding why the vehicle left the roadway remain under investigation. Authorities are working to piece together the events leading up to the crash and determine what factors may have contributed to the tragedy.

Interstate 5 was significantly impacted following the collision, with the roadway affected for approximately five hours as law enforcement officers, emergency crews and investigators worked at the scene.

Oregon State Police received assistance from Central Douglas Fire & Rescue and the Oregon Department of Transportation during the response and investigation.

The investigation is also being supported by the Oregon State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit, a specialized team tasked with investigating fatal and critical-injury crashes occurring on Oregon highways.

The unit uses advanced technology and investigative techniques to carefully document crash scenes, including sophisticated measurements and small unmanned aircraft systems. Its personnel include collision reconstructionists accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstruction, as well as technical collision investigators who can be deployed throughout Oregon to assist with complex crashes.

While investigators continue their work to determine exactly what happened, a family is left facing a reality no loved one should ever have to endure—the sudden loss of someone they cared for deeply.

Deanndra Elaine Hamlett’s life cannot be defined by the circumstances of her final moments. She was a person with a life, dreams, relationships and memories that meant something to those around her.
