Jackson Police Investigating Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash on Airways Boulevard; Victim Reportedly Identified as Fresno Da Shoota

The Jackson Police Department is continuing its investigation into a tragic single-vehicle crash that claimed the life of one person and left another seriously injured on Tuesday night along Airways Boulevard.

According to police, officers responded at approximately 9:33 p.m. to the 800 block of Airways Boulevard after receiving reports of a vehicle that had run off the roadway. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered a severely damaged vehicle in a wooded ravine on the south side of the roadway.

Authorities said the vehicle was occupied by two adult males at the time of the crash. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and found in the ravine suffering from multiple serious injuries. He was airlifted to a hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, where he remains in serious condition.

The second occupant was also ejected during the violent impact. Despite the efforts of first responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the preliminary investigation, the vehicle was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed when it left the roadway and struck a tree head-on. Investigators say the impact was so severe that it caused the body of the vehicle to separate from its frame, highlighting the tremendous force of the collision.

While the Jackson Police Department has not officially released the identity of the deceased in its statement, the victim has been widely reported as Fresno Da Shoota. Authorities have not yet confirmed this information publicly.
