The community of Winslow is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Cameron Lafleche, 29, who died Thursday morning following a serious crash involving his car and a commercial truck in Augusta, Maine.

According to authorities, the fatal collision happened shortly before 5:55 a.m. near the intersection of Route 3 and West River Road. Lafleche was traveling in a 2004 Toyota Camry when his vehicle was involved in a crash with a 2024 Kenworth T880 commercial truck.

Despite the efforts at the scene, Lafleche was pronounced dead at the crash site. He was only 29 years old.

A life that should have held so many more mornings, memories, milestones and moments with loved ones came to a sudden and devastating end. For those who knew Cameron, the news is undoubtedly difficult to comprehend. The driver of the Kenworth, a 29-year-old man from Washington, Maine, was also involved in the collision. Authorities had not provided information regarding whether he was injured.

The Augusta Police Department and Maine State Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. Members of the Maine State Police are conducting a reconstruction of the collision as investigators work to determine exactly what happened.
