GLADWIN COUNTY, Mich. — A family is grieving the heartbreaking loss of 54-year-old Jennifer Smith of Flint, Michigan, who died Monday evening after a devastating two-vehicle crash on Round Lake Road in Sherman Township.
The fatal collision happened on August 24, 2026, at approximately 7:50 p.m., when deputies from the Gladwin County Sheriff’s Office were called to investigate a serious personal injury crash involving two vehicles on Round Lake Road, approximately one-half mile south of Pleasant View Drive.
According to the preliminary investigation, Smith was driving a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado southbound on Round Lake Road when her vehicle collided head-on with a 2015 Toyota Avalon traveling northbound. The Avalon was being driven by 40-year-old Holly Mosely of West Branch.
The two vehicles collided near a curved section of the roadway, resulting in devastating injuries.
Emergency responders immediately began life-saving efforts for those involved. Despite those efforts, Smith succumbed to her crash-related injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Her death has left family members, friends and loved ones facing a sudden and painful loss.

Authorities emphasized that the cause of the crash remains under investigation. Once the investigation is completed, reports will be forwarded to the Gladwin County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
